Do you want something new in your village or neighbourhood? Or change something? For instance, do you have ideas about meeting activities, sports, greenery, health, safety, art or culture? Come to Amaryllis for tips and support or get started yourself.
So you can help create a neighbourhood, district or village where it is nice to live.
This is what Amaryllis can do with you
Amaryllis community workers know what is going on in the neighbourhood. They help residents find each other, get things done together and improve their neighbourhood, district or village.
Wishes and ideas
The community workers are happy to provide support with wishes or ideas for your neighbourhood, district or village. Like setting up meeting activities or making your neighbourhood more beautiful, greener, cosier or safer.
Come and see the community worker in your neighbourhood or village. The community worker can contribute ideas or support:
- on getting in touch with other neighbourhood or village residents who like the idea;
- if you want to organise talks with organisations that can do something for your wish or idea. For example, a community centre, neighbourhood panel, police, housing association or the municipality;
- at opportunities for funding, such as funds and grants;
- When making your plan;
- If necessary, the community worker can help you implement your plan.

Improve living environment
Leeuwarden Municipality's website contains useful information for improving the living environment. Among others, about neighbourhood panels, village interests, neighbourhood prevention, safety and subsidies from the Mienskipsfonds.
Information residents' initiatives
The LSA residents (Landelijk Samenwerkingsverband Actieve bewoners) shares information on its website on topics such as connecting neighbourhood residents, starting an initiative, finances and organisation and management.
Submit resident initiative
If you have a good idea for your neighbourhood, district or village, you can submit your plan to the Municipality of Leeuwarden. The municipality can also give you advice on making or implementing your plan.

On the website Samenleeuwarden.nl, you can find volunteers, voluntary work and activities and services in the neighbourhoods and villages. Residents and organisations can post their requests or offers there themselves.
