Pregnancy course

Are you young and pregnant? You might not be quite sure what to expect. That’s why the Young Parents’ Meeting Centre (OJO) run by Amaryllis Youth Work, in partnership with Rond Geboorte, organises a free antenatal course four times a year, specifically for young expectant mothers up to the age of 24. During this course: you’ll meet other young mums, share experiences with one another, and receive reliable information and tips for your pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period. The sessions are run by Rond Geboorte. A youth health nurse will also be present on the final evening. At the end of the course, you’ll receive a lovely, well-stocked goody bag! The course consists of four Wednesday evenings. On the final evening, you can bring your partner or someone else who will be present at the birth. Are you aged between 17 and 26 and do you live in the municipality of Leeuwarden? Then come along to our sessions on living independently! During these sessions, you’ll get practical tips and handy advice on topics including: Finding and renting a home Household chores Money matters and budgeting Paperwork and insurance Healthy living And much more You’ll also meet other young people and be able to share experiences, questions and ideas with one another. Together, we’ll prepare you for a successful start to independent living!

Meeting, sharing and relaxing Amaryllis youth work organises three groups for young parents every week at Meeting Centre Young Parents. There, you meet other parents and take part in fun and entertaining activities. You can get information and advice on topics such as: living learning working parenting money matters The Monday group is for young parents who do not (yet) speak Dutch well. An interpreter is present for Tigrinya and Arabic. A babysitter is present, so you can have some time to yourself!
