Will you be our new colleague? We are looking for a team leader to manage two teams: the South Neighbourhood Social Team and the South Rural Social Team.

Amaryllis is the organisation responsible for social work and welfare in the municipality of Leeuwarden. Together with 260 staff members, 115 volunteers and over 50 work experience students, we work every day to create a society in which residents can participate, look after themselves and support one another.

Our community and village teams provide high-quality, generalist primary care to all residents of the municipality of Leeuwarden. Our services are accessible and local, delivered in partnership with residents, their support networks and our partner organisations. We do whatever is necessary, putting the resident’s perspective first. We start by looking at what a person can do for themselves and what their social network can offer. Where professional support is needed, we provide it with the aim of increasing self-reliance.

For the South Neighbourhood Social Team and the South Rural Social Team, we are looking for a manager with coaching and people-centred leadership skills who can support and motivate staff. You will ensure that they provide high-quality, safe and effective support on a daily basis. You will also encourage them to take responsibility, to base their decisions on data and to demonstrate the impact of their work.

Amaryllis is growing like mad!
A new organisational structure was introduced in 2024. Over the past period, we have further developed and refined this structure. This has resulted in a clear division of responsibilities in the management of the teams, with a manager for the Municipality-wide Teams and a manager for the Social Neighbourhood and Village Teams. This provides a solid foundation for taking the next step: continuing to build a strong and future-proof organisation.

We remain committed to delivering professional, high-quality and data-driven social work. We learn from our experiences, make the impact of our work increasingly visible, and are constantly seeking ways to improve the services we provide to residents.

As a team leader, you play a key role in this. You lead your own teams and contribute to the development of Amaryllis as a whole.

What will you do?

  • You will lead the staff of the South Neighbourhood Social Team and the South Rural Social Team, coaching and motivating them and encouraging them to take responsibility for the team’s objectives.
  • You will act as the point of contact for staff and ensure a stable and safe working environment. You will provide guidance and clarity, foster collaboration and keep a close eye on the development of staff and the team.
  • You will encourage the targeted and responsible use of new working methods and tools, including AI, and ensure that contact moments and results are properly documented. This will give us an ever-better understanding of the impact of our work and enable us to underpin our decisions with data.
  • You will conduct performance reviews, annual reviews and development discussions, and implement HR policy, including sustainable employability, staffing, development, and recruitment and selection.
  • You will monitor the quality and progress of the service, identify bottlenecks, make adjustments where necessary and ensure that improvement measures are implemented.
  • You foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development. You create opportunities for case discussions, reflection and the further development of professional expertise.
  • You provide relevant management information on the teams’ results.
  • You represent Amaryllis in your area and work closely with voluntary organisations and professional bodies.
  • You translate developments and trends from the network into relevant information for the team and the organisation.
  • You will support the team in developing and implementing a results-oriented annual plan and monitor its implementation.
  • You will encourage and promote close collaboration between the neighbourhood and village teams and our municipality-wide teams, so that knowledge, expertise and opportunities are utilised across teams.
  • Among other things, you will work alongside the manager of the Community and Village Teams and fellow team leaders on organisation-wide developments, and stand in for them when they are absent.

You have/are

  • Hold a higher professional education (HBO) qualification and possess the working and thinking level expected of an HBO graduate.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the field.
  • Experience in a managerial role and an interest in coaching and developing staff.
  • Knowledge of and insight into change management and business operations.
  • A coaching and collaborative approach, through which you are able to motivate people and get them moving.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to reconcile differing interests and build support.
  • A customer-focused, results-oriented and practical approach, with a focus on residents, staff and the local area.
  • A strong negotiating partner who capitalises on opportunities and tackles bottlenecks.
  • A focus on results and job satisfaction.

We offer

  • A warm welcome from 260 colleagues within an exciting and thriving organisation.
  • A place within dedicated and professional teams.
  • A flexible workspace at an Amaryllis location.
  • A one-year temporary appointment.
  • A competitive salary in line with the Social Work collective agreement, ranging from a minimum of €4,304 to a maximum of €7,164 gross per month (scale 11, based on a 36-hour working week), supplemented by excellent employment conditions such as an Individual Choice Budget and a career budget.
