Opening exhibition Atelier Welgelegen in Fries Museum

Participants of Atelier Welgelegen exhibit 7 October to 2 November 2025 in the hall of the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden. The official opening is on Tuesday 7 October at 15:00.

Everyone is welcome to come and see the works. Entrance to this exhibition in the hall is free.

Atelier
Atelier Welgelegen was started in 2021 by social worker Hanneke. The workshop is one of the very different forms of group support Amaryllis offers. Every Tuesday afternoon, a group of 10 to 15 people meet in Neighbourhood House Welgelegen to work creatively on a subject of their own choice. Social workers Julia, Hanneke and Thijs supervise this workshop group jointly and alternately.

Atmosphere and contact
The studio is mainly about the casual atmosphere, approachability and being in contact with others. This happens in a homely setting while working on a creative passion or hobby. Moreover, it makes it such a small step to come to the social worker with questions or concerns.

The studio had an exhibition before: in spring 2023 at the City Office. Participants had been asking for a while for another exhibition of their beautiful works. They are delighted to have the opportunity to show their works to the general public in this prominent place in the city.
