Informal care Carers White Informal care

Do you care unpaid for someone who is ill or has a disability? A family member, friend or neighbour? Then you are an informal carer. It can be beautiful, but also tough. Amaryllis can work with you to see how you can cope more easily.

This is what Amaryllis can do with you

Informal carers often feel alone. Yet more is possible than you think. Not only for the carer. Especially for you as an informal carer! We provide an overview, offer perspective and help find solutions. We also organise activities for informal carers.

In conversation with team Mantelzorg

Do you have a question? Do you want to get your heart out? Or are you at a loss as to how to proceed? You are welcome at the consultation hour of team Mantelzorg. You can also make an appointment for a meeting at the office or at your home. Together, we look at your situation and explore the possibilities. We give tips, information and can help you arrange things.

Tips, information and arrangements

Tips for everyday life as a carer can already make a difference. There may also be activities and facilities nearby that you can make use of. Furthermore, we know what resources and schemes are available and how to apply for them. We can also help you arrange voluntary or paid care or support. Amaryllis does not provide care or support itself.

Of course, we are also happy to tell you about our own activities for carers.

Information about the consultation hours and our contact details can be found on the contact page of team Mantelzorg.

Lodging flat

We rent a flat in a care home. In this 'respite room', a carer can stay overnight from time to time. The informal carer can then take a break.

Your own home care goes with you. If there is no home care, we will see if an indication for home care is needed for during the stay. The care centre's nursing staff is available for emergencies or questions.

Day care can continue as normal. If someone does not have a daytime activity, we can look at the possibilities at Ontmoeten & Meedoen van Amaryllis. [Link to page O&M]

Sometimes it is better to keep the carer at home with all the care around it, and let the informal carer unwind in the guest flat.

The lodge flat is not for crisis or emergency. Consult with Amaryllis what is possible in case of crisis or emergency.

Staying can be for a maximum of two weeks at a time. The co-payment is €10 per day.

Mantel care cafés

During the Mantelzorgcafé, you can have coffee with other informal carers. Conviviality and meeting other informal carers is paramount. If you like, you can share experiences and exchange tips. Sometimes there is a lecture or other activity. You can also talk to Amaryllis staff. Feel welcome to drop by sometime.

Amaryllis organises informal care cafes in different neighbourhoods and villages of Leeuwarden. They are usually once a month, but not in July and August.

Additional activities

We regularly organise something extra for informal carers. To get away from it all or to be pampered ourselves. Like the annual caregiver weekends or going to a concert.

Check the calendar to see if anything is scheduled soon.
