Social worker status holders
Are you looking for meaningful voluntary work? Amaryllis is seeking committed volunteers who wish to support the social integration of status holders in the municipality of Leeuwarden. As a volunteer, you will help newcomers build a life in the Netherlands.
What will you be doing? You can focus on one specific role or opt for an all-round role in which you combine several tasks:
You’ll go out with them to help them find their way around the neighbourhood and the city. This might include meeting neighbours or visiting the community centre. Together, you’ll also discover local initiatives, activities and meeting places. You’ll help them find their way into society step by step and connect them with existing initiatives.
You’ll provide support with practical matters such as handing over keys, furnishing their home, explaining local services and helping to set up and organise their paperwork.
You’ll also help with language and cultural queries in everyday life.
You’ll organise or support group meetings on topics such as healthcare, housing, participation, social networks, parenting and education.
In short, there’s plenty to do! We’d be happy to work with you to find out what suits you best. Interested? Would you like to find out more, or does the idea of helping to support status holders appeal to you? If so, please get in touch with us.
