This is what Amaryllis can do with you

An Amaryllis social worker will check with you what is going on and what you need. What exactly are you suffering from? How long have you been experiencing it? How often and when? Do you already know what the cause is? Have you had help with mental health problems before or not?

You may be able to move forward yourself with a few tips. If you need support, you and the social worker will look at:

  • what you can do yourself
  • How your social network can help. Such as family, friends or neighbours
  • which support further suits you

Amaryllis offers support in groups and individually. Online support is also available, for example through the e-health programme Gezondeboel. And do you need support or care from another organisation? Then we can make a referral.

Examples of mental health support

Exactly how Amaryllis can support depends on your situation. A few examples of our mental health offerings:

  • Interviews with a social worker
  • A companion who temporarily supports you at home. For example, in organising your day or week.
  • Different groups of Amaryllis.
    Such as on awareness and self-confidence. But also for drinking coffee together or being creative. And groups for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or mild intellectual disability (PLD).
  • Misschien helpt sporten of bewegen. Ook daarvoor hebben we verschillende groepen.
  • Meeting & Participation: meaningful daytime activities for one or more half-days a week.

Or something else that suits you.

Talk about your complaints

It is important to talk about your mental health symptoms with someone you trust. For example, a family member, friend, neighbour or neighbour.

Think about complaints and cause

Do you have mental health complaints and are going to Amaryllis soon? Think beforehand what exactly your complaints are. And what the possible causes are. This helps in working together to find a solution.

Humanitas volunteers

Humanitas volunteers help everyone in the municipality of Leeuwarden to change something about their situation on their own. This happens in various projects and activities. The topics are loneliness, loss, parenting, growing up, home administration and detention (fathers in prison).
