Amaryllis commits to digital support
Amaryllis is betting on digital support in social work. An initial study together with NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences into experiences with digital support is positive. The research helps to develop the method further, as a valuable addition to face-to-face support.
“I could work on it when I was ready. In an interview you have to respond immediately, online I had more time. It helped me get over a threshold”, says one of the participants in the study.
During a pilot in 2022, Amaryllis chose the application Gezondeboel as its platform for offering digital support. This platform offers online courses, called programmes, on a variety of topics. For example, dealing with money worries, planning and structure and standing up for yourself. The courses consist of videos, animations, background information and practical tips. Since 2025, Amaryllis has been using Gezondeboel structurally, often in combination with support from a social worker or counsellor.
The Social Quality Lectorate at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences studied the effect of digital support on participants and how it is embedded in the organisation.
Survey results
Digital support proved to be a valuable addition, and an important step in future-proof and accessible assistance. Residents cited more self-direction, structure, flexibility and peace of mind as benefits. For staff, it offers opportunities for efficiency, depth in conversations and a theoretically based addition to their work.
Points of interest
However, some areas of concern emerge from the study. Implementation requires an integral vision of digital support, structural training and technical support. Both residents and staff mention the importance of trust, accessibility and tailor-made guidance. The role of the social worker remains crucial in motivating and supporting residents in digital self-reliance.
Basis for further development
The experiences and insights from 2025 form a solid basis for further development. In 2026, the focal points will be secured in the further development and structural embedding of digital support within Amaryllis. By continuing to invest in digital professionalism, clear communication and a uniform way of working, Amaryllis can continue to fulfil its social mission powerfully and future-oriented.
